Going Overboard?

While reading this month's ELLE, i came across a rather novel concept of dealing with everyday eve-teasers. There's this site blanknoiseproject.blogspot.com. i went on this site today. I went in there -always the stauch feminist that i am - ready to applaud this gutsy woman's initiative.
Check it out for yourself. Especially check the 'Eve Teasers Unwanted' section on the right of the page, slighly down. check some of the comments posted. I don't know guys, but i was a bit revolted at what the ladies are saying there. Don't the guys have any rights?

Guys, i am all for men/women not impinging upon my rights etc, but don’t you think this is going too far?! Doesn't the GUY have any rights either? We are just harking upon the woman’s right here. So we have the right to wear what we want, but the guy does not have the right to LOOK!?! I mean this is ridiculous.

I am a woman of 25, and i wear what most would consider 'slutty' or revealing outfits all the time. Do i get eve teased? You bet. And all the time. But its just men looking you up and down or saying things. That’s perfectly OK and acceptable to me. I mean it’s their mouth and their eyes. Why can’t men use those?

For me the big difference is when the guy actually comes up and TOUCHES ME. Then he is invading my space and my being. at that, i object. at that, I’m not ok. If this guy had touched you or felt you up, then by all means post his picture here. But a LOOK - C’mon on!
I am by no means implying that 'you wore XXX, so you must learn to live with its consequences ...' . I don’t believe an ounce that wearing so and so calls for guys hooting and hollering at me etc. i am saying *regardless of what i wear, i have reached a point in my life that i simply *don't care* about other's reactions - be it my fathers comments to 'dress appropriately or you will invite unwanted attention' or a lecher on the street.

Everyone has a right to their opinions. As long as its just words or looks, fine, by all means, unenlightened men go ahead!

But i am getting sick of women going on and on about *their rights*. True rights also imply that you realize others have freedoms and rights too (Though checking out girls is by no means a *right* :) ). Take it in your stride or better yet, learn the art of *ignoring* someone ladies. The sooner the guy realizes his words are going on deaf ears, he will back off. The more you call attention, the more it will continue. The only way to solve the problem of men treating women as objects is by education, which is a long term solution. Anything else is just a Band-Aid.

The Devil Wears Prada Shoes!

Have a look at these boots from the Fall-Winter 06-07 season

Ralph Lauren: Love the crocodile hide and the rich chocolate color of these boots. Look good enough to eat already.

Celine:

McQueen

Gucci

(All images above taken from thefashionspot.com)

All the major and minor design labels featured croc, alligator, snake skins for boots, bags and clothes. Fur was HUGE this season -AGAIN! Not a good day - or more correctly, the last few years- for our animal and reptilian friends.

Speaking of crocs, the Crocodile Hunter died. Not from croc-bite. but from a sting ray. thats a fish, for all you uninitiated. Not to sound insensitive, but imagine what little Bindi Irwin will have to explain to her friends on how her father died. "My father got whacked by a fish". But seriously, he will be missed. and also his little khaki shorts:P

My Favorite Things At This Moment

Fav Song : Now this is a really dumb and stupid song. was a hit a while back. Its called Numa Numa by a little known band called Ozone. You can listen to it here.

Other songs that have been playing on and off these days:
  1. Justin Timberlake - Sexy back
  2. Dj Tiesto&Andain - Beautiful Things (Nyana_Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
  3. Pink - Who Knew
  4. and a superb remix of Bruce Springsteen's Dancing in the Dark.

Fav Female : Kate Moss
Apparently i am not the only one who still finds her hot and happening. Ms Moss is on so many covers this month. British Vogue (who have featured her on the cover 3 times this year already!), Vanity Fair among others.

Love the British Vogue cover. Its a huge 400 page magazine this month. Every page worthwhile. Loved the issue..although have only scanned through it and havent read anything. but still, looks very delish!

The Vanity Fair September issue:

Fav Male : Hmm.. That's a toss up between Fabio Cannavaro, Tom Ford, and my newest crush, Ryan Seacrest....and this guy-->

The Butterfly Lady

Here's a picture of my tattoo. had it done like 2 years ago, but only now got a picture to show for it

It was taken as a birthday gift to myself on my 23rd birthday. The name of the artist is Ronnie Froberg, the name of the tattoo saloon is Funky Monkey in Mumbai, India. The tattoo is very personal and meaningful The woman symbolizes me myself, and the butterfly wings symbolize frailty and delicateness and also the wings symbolize "go on, get ready to fly". This was about the time I started earning my own dough and so it represents flying/freedom etc
