Worklife Woes
I am 23 yo girl. I have been working just since the past seven months. I am still not over my college days. i am STILL wearing the same tight and short clothes to work, though not daily. One of the guys, a project manager who i work under, once said "You look nice in that skirt" (a slightly short skirt), out of the blue.
I also have a saying "(Food:)One moment on your lips, forver on your hips" posted on my workstation. The same guy read that and said "so, that is the secret to your fab 'you-know-what'". Is this just "boys will be boys"...or something more? Not that i mind...makes my day go by faster(we chat on our company messeging service). I know its cheeky, but i asked the same guy to copy all my MP3 songs on a cd--against company policy. He did.
However, i am not into Indian men. have never gone out with one. I go out only and exclusively with Caucasian men. So why am i encouraging this? It is just so i could get my work done through him(the cd-burning)??
Oh..and another "problem"...the above mentioned guy's boss (my project leader) is married, and i find myself being attracted to him more tyhan anyone else. He is married...happily. Whenever he even talks to another girl, *I* feel jealous...as though i am his wife!
Whats going on here??? Is it just the power-trip i am after??

It's a Dog's Life!
I dont ever want to have children...of my own anyways. i just cant think i can go through with all that! My mother says if my husband wants a child, then i would "have to get pregnant". I dont agree. No matter how much HE wants one, at the end of teh day, a baby is gonna pop out of MY belly, not his. So, he does not affect my decision to have one.
Worst comes to worst, i'd adopt a child. Personally, i am not a child person. i prefer dogs (No offence meant). i would much rather spend my days with a pack of dogs than with a child.
JMHO

Where is the love?
I have to say I am a bit of a hypocrite posing this question. I would not wear fur, because it is murder (whether shot in the wild/ or on fur farms). However, I am an avid fashion follower...And the fur is undeniably in fashion (just *look* at the September issue of VOGUE!). So I am kind of stuck in a tight spot. All I can say is that I am glad I do not have the money to buy a fur coat...A nice deterrent in case I lose my sense of priorities or decency.
However, for my birthday this year I did buy a leather jacket. But isn't that a "by-product". I mean the cow is NOT being killed for the leather, but rather for its meat.
Croc/Alligator pelts DO look gorgeous. And I very nearly wanted to buy one myself.

So where do we draw the line??? Who's to say fur is murder and leather is not? Or rather, *why* is killing animals for fashion not ok, but killing them for meat is ok. We clearly have alternatives for both. Then why the discrimination?

And how come fur is making such a comeback..I mean, a few years ago there was hardly a fur coat in sight on the runway. What happened?

what do you make of PETA members having thrown a dead animal in the lap of Anna Wintour (vogue editor) to stop promoting fur in the pages of Vogue. Looking at it from their perspective, they are right! How else wile they get their voices heard --than by disrupting ,say a Victoria's Secret show, which gets the max. exposure on TV.

Questions regarding Adultery
I was just wondering....
whatever happened to the vows you take with this guy...to love them through thick and thin???
Where does the Bible stand on this??
What happened to giving someone a second chance [Otherwise, are we any different from death penalty proponents?]
What about emotional adultery? [We should actually start a new discussion on THAT]
What if he cheats first, and then you cheat to get even...does that settle the score?
What about the women who KNOW their guys are cheating, but remain silent...are they cowards?
What about the speech you will give your children when the two of you decide to break up? Do u tell them the truth, or sugar-coat it?
Suppose you do choose "forgive, but not forget"...and the guy goes on to cheat a second time, is that the final straw, or do u forgive again?
I also remember something Dr. Phil had said..."Forgive...Forget are all the same...they are just play of words"...is that true?
What if he doesnt have sexual intercourse, but has the side trimmings?
In case a guy does cheat, what would you want him to tell you (that he made a mistake/ he does not love you/it was a one off thing/you llok ugly and sex with you sucked/you are too busy raising your kids and i want entertainment}?
Does ANYTHING justify adultery?
For those who voted "Not forgive , not forget' ...Would you rather have him keep quiet about it, and not confess?

**This is NOT aimed at YOU matty_girl, just some potent questions to get people to think.**
Thx

Pro Choice, Definately!
Bottom line...MY BODY, MY CHOICE... as simple as that!
and since the pro-lifers are talking about the rights of the unborn child.... do they really think such an "unwanted" child is better off being born and raised by such a parent, than not being born at all?? What if i am too poor to raise my child. NO, i will not put him/her up for adoption...if i dont want them in the first place. why should i subject my body to nine months of torture if i have to hand it over to someone else???

Background info.: I have not been married, or have any children. i am 23. as far as i can see, i dont intend to have any childen on my own. But you never know, when the ominous biological clock starts ticking away:-)

Quality of Life Survey Results

Visit this site:

Zurich is the number one city to live in for the highest quality of life. Infact, three of the top ten cities are from Switzerland. Germany has two cities on the top ten list. While the USA does not figure at all! Guess the "Chocolate producing countries" must be doing something right!
Iraq is at the bottom of that list.

Plastic Surgery, Anyone???
About the plastic surgery part... i dont see anything wrong with doing it...IF (a big IF) that is what YOU (not peer pressure, oy friends, supermodels...etc) want.
But they who get it done are naive to believe that getting , say a boob job, will make their lives better or happier. After all's said and done, the novelty of their new boobs/nose/ nip-tuck job wears off and they still have to contend with their own former self...all the unresolved feelings that drove them to get the surgury in the first place.
There are a million things about me , that on a day day, i dont like. my nose is too big, cheeks too full, cellulite, blah blah blah. But i have nice boobs, full lips, and am thin. How many girls even have that. Would i like to look better...SURE! But am i unhappy with the way i am ...NO WAY!

Outsourcing Woes
I work at Hurix Systems in Bombay. Our company is a technical/content providing company. Our clients are from the US. They outsource to us since we provide cheap labor.
I am not complaining...Since the money we get is better than any Govt. job ...hands down!
But I do see the critics POV.
Funny thing, when America was trying to enforce laws banning outsourcing in certain sectors, people in India were saying "its wrong ...Its not free trade...". But in my very own state, the fishing industry people are complaining that their jobs are being encroached upon by people migrating from rural India to Mumbai.
So I guess, when you are the recipient of an outsourced job, outsourcing is good...But if you lose your job as a result of it, its bad.

Pro-Ana discussion (cont'd)
Firstly, it CAN be "caught" by viewing such material on the net or anywhere. Of course, there should already have been a little pro-ana tendency in that person from before...But such sites are like a matchstick to a pile of hay.
I am 55 kgs (about 110 pounds I think) , 5 feet 4 inches and 23 yo. I was surfing that site at work, happily having coffee and biscuits...when I started to feel ASHAMED of the way I look. I threw away the biscuit. I have been drinking LOTS of water... like they suggest. Probably all unconscious, but its having an effect.
Probably I wouldn't go to THAT extent that they want, but one of their captions "One moment on your lips, forever on your hips" seems stuck in my head. Today I haven't had my usual coffee and snacks...Just an omelet for breakfast, and grapes now as snack.
Pro-Ana website---Do something!

Please take a look at this disturbing site and what it is promoting…

The link is:

(i am NOT pro-ana, and this is NOT my creation)

Here's a sampler:

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.
One moment on the lips ... forever on the hips.
The thinner the winner!
You can never be too rich or too thin.

Hunger hurts but starving works ...
